I worked on the left hand lower spar cap. I continued to work at removing the left over flange that had been machined off. I know this is not really required but it makes the tie down fitting fit better and looks nice.
Cleaning Up the Spar Caps
Preparing Completed Parts for Storage
Riveting Ailerons
After having my MD-RA inspection yesterday I was able to start closing up all of the components that I have made so far. Today I started with the ailerons.
Completing Riveting on the Rudder
A couple of rivets at the lower rib needed to be pulled by hand as they seemed to interfere with the rivets holding the control horn. By using a hand puller I was able to ensure that the head was seated properly as I slowly pulled the rivets.
Completing the Riveting of the Horizontal Stabilizer
I completed all of the rivets on the horizontal stabilizer except for those at the tips. I left these for latter when I get ready to attach the fiberglass tips.
Riveting the Elevator
Finishing the Rivets on the Vertical Stabilizer
Deburring Main Spar Webs
Left Aileron
I completed up drilling to #30. Now I need to deburr all of the holes. With all the holes deburred and the ailerons clecoed together I think it\’s time for my first inspection by the MD-RA.
