I worked at drilling the pilot holes in many of the F15 parts.
Rudder Pedal Mount Assemblies
I started work on drilling and riveting the rudder pedal mount assemblies completing the right hand assembly.
Upper Longeron
Drilling mounting holes for canopy latch strike plate. I also drilled and countersunk the holes for the longeron doubler and then riveted it to the left longeron. One I was done with the left longeron I created a list of fasteners that I need for the forward fuselage side panels.
Canopy Latch Strike Plate
I started by cutting out the latch from a piece of 3/16 inch phenolic. Next I layed out the slot and setup my drill press to drill a series of holes. Once the holes were drilled I used my coping saw to create the slot. Sand paper on a tongue depressor was used to open the slot up until I could get my file in. I finished the slot using the file and then marked and drilled the pilot holes.
Wiring Left Wing
I finished the wing wiring today by labeling and securing the wires in the wing tip area. I also tried to fix one of the rivets in the top skin. When I put the rivet in through the spar directly above the reinforcing angle for the tie down the rivet would not go in all the way and didn’t set properly. I drilled it out but in the process I hit the angle. I sent a picture and note to Kerry at Sonex who advised me that it will be ok the way it is.
Wiring Left Wing
Tonight I got the wires for the landing lights labeled and I finished running the wires through the spar tip for the position and strobe lights.
Wiing the Left Wing
Wiring the Left Wing
Today I finished tying off the wires in the wing tip.
Wiring Left Wing
I finished installing all of the adel clamps today. Now all I need to do is label the wires and finishing tying them off at the wing tip.
